Dr. Faustina Pereira is a Lawyer, a Gender and Sustainable Development specialist, a Human Rights activist, and a scholar with an International reach. She is currently a Senior Fellow at Centre for Peace and Justice, BRAC University. She has served in senior executive positions in national and international rights-based and development organisations such as Ain O Salish Kendra (ASK), BRAC and IDLO (International Development Law Organisation). Dr. Pereira is also a Professor of Law, teaching International Refugee Law as Visiting Faculty at the University of the Asia Pacific. In 2006, she was named Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.Dr. Pereira’s first book “The Fractured Scales: The Search for a Uniform Personal Code,” was awarded a Gold Medal in 2002 by the Asiatic Society. Her second book (co-authored) on Revisiting Personal Laws, was published by Brill Nijhoff in 2019. She obtained her Doctorate in International Human Rights Law in 1998 from the University of Notre Dame, USA. She completed her post-doctorate in 2002 from the National University of Ireland, Galway, as a Bank of Ireland Fellow.
