Nilufa Sultana Sheta is working in the development sector since 1996 with focus on gender, human rights, governance, access to services, capacity building and M & E. Her professional experience covers a full range of funding and project management blended with extensive field experience in diverse geographic location within Bangladesh. She started her career as a field worker and gradually transitioned into program management and decision-making levels in both national and international organizations.

She joined Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in 2001 as fund Monitor in Local Fund Management Office and in 2007 promoted as Assistant Fund Coordinator. In GIZ she managed a project titled ‘Gender Responsive Community Based Policing Project (GRCBP)’ from 2009 to 2011 and worked as Capacity Building Manager for Rule of Law project until 2013. She has also worked with WayFair Association and undertaken short-term consultancy for different national and international organizations.

She also served with two national organizations at the beginning of her career and also worked as Assistant researcher for Ain O Shalish Kendra (ASK) and Urban Planning Department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). She was trained in Result Based Management (RBM) both at theoretical and practical levels to effectively manage development projects. Has sound understanding on gender issues, human rights, community participation, partnership approach, problem solving and communication. She received her Master’s in Political Science from National University and LLB under Dhaka University.
