The forum was organised by International Institute of Humanitarian Law and featured several CPJ team members as panel members. CPJ’s Director (Academic and Legal Empowerment) Shahariar Sadat spoke at the session ‘Inclusion of Refugee Students’. He shed light on the barriers in ensuring higher education for refugees and outlined the best practices from CPJ’s Refugee Studies Unit in Cox’s Bazar.
Tasnia Khandakar Prova, Research Associate, CPJ and Mr. Mohammad Azizul Hoque, Faculty Member at CPJ’s Refugee Studies Unit spoke at the ‘Evidence-Based Research and Academic Advocacy’ session. They elaborated on the research trends and unpacked the correlation between research, academia and advocacy in refugee protection.
The virtual forum was organised with an aim to galvanize the community of academic teachers, trainers and researchers in pursuing projects that benefit refugees and facilitates cooperation. The event brought together 35 participants from 24 countries, engaging in nine dynamic panel discussions from 30th October to 17th November 2023.
