3-day Strategic Planning Retreat of Centre for Peace and Justice, Brac University was held on 22-24 September 2019 at BRAC CDM, Savar. On the first day, CPJ’s Executive Director Manzoor Hasan OBE welcomed the distinguished attendees and shared a brief overview of the plans for the next few days of the strategic planning retreat.

Mr. Jontathan Cartmel, Vice President of Brac University and Dr. M Mahboob Rahman, PhD, AVP & Chief of Staff, Dean, Brac Business School, enlightened us through sharing BracU strategies. Mr. Pial Islam, Director Pi Strategy guided us with presentation over strategic planning. Dr. Caroline Brassard PhD, Academic Advisor of CPJ moderated the event throughout the two and half days while Dr. Faustina Pereira, Head of Legal Empowerment and Sustainable Development, Dr Samia Haq, Associate Professor of Department of Economics and Social Sciences at BracU, Muhammad Badiuzzaman, Research Coordinator of CPJ, Nilufa Sultana Sheta, Programme Coordinator of CPJ presented on CPJ’s key activities in the last 2 years. CPJ’s Senior Researchers, Program Staff, and other Administrative Staff participated in the discussions.

The strategic retreat reflected on the research partnerships and outputs, training and courses imparted, events organized, projects implemented and outreach activities and identified key strategic directions for the next three years. On the strategic planning retreat, the participants provided their observations, inputs, and feedback at the meeting.

The retreat concluded on a positive note on strengthening existing partnerships and strengthening capacities on research, academic, training and advocacy activities further.
